This buzz has been around for a long time, using Raspberry pi for image processing in big projects. But on July 1, the European Space Agency launched two raspberry pi into space for Astro research as a demo version.
This Astro pi is an ambitious project sent to ISS(International Space Station) which already get more familiarity in the educational purpose of it.
SSTL - a UK based satellite Launch company done it and they reported BBC about the pic they took from the raspberry pi cam.
